MoDOT Central District News Release
Boone County - A bridge deck replacement on the Route 40 bridge over Interstate 70 in Boone County will begin the week of April 5, weather permitting. The Route 40 overpass is located near Midway, at mile marker 121.The bridge will close to traffic during construction, which is scheduled through early May. Ramps to and from I-70 will remain open to traffic. In order to cross the interstate, motorists will be detoured along I-70 to the next adjacent interchange, which would be at Routes J/O (mile marker 117) and at Route 740 (mile marker 124).During the work, occasional lane closures may occur on eastbound and westbound I-70 at this location.The improvements are a part of MoDOT's Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program. All bridges in the program will be finished by the end of 2014.
